·         In London, Battersea Power Station a giant inflatable spider pig that was the size of a double decker bus was set up

·         In Dorset a giant image of Homer was painted on a hill and was called ‘The Cerne Abbas Giant’  but it also caused outrage amongst locals)

·         Toys were released based on the film like action figures.

·         EA Games released The Simpsons Game.

·         Samsung released The Simpsons Movie Phone

·         Ben and Jerry’s created a Simpsons themed beer and D’oh nut flavoured ice cream.

·         Burger King gave away Simpsons toys with kids meals

90% were approved ratings and generally all were favourable

The Guardian and the Times gave the movie 4 out of 5 starts

Problems?

Watchdog reprimanded Sky TV for running pizza advertisements during The Simpsons series. Ofcom said that its rules on barring junk food promotions on output popular with children had been broken. “Dominoes have just announced strong profits” this was dies to the promotion given from Ofcom.

Bad publicity could also be Good publicity.
