BBC Three's Documentary on 'Websex'

What is being done by the soundtrack/ voiceover/ dialogue?
The voiceover is informative and lets the audience know of what’s going on so it ‘anchors’ us to reassure the audience of the endeavours.
What sound and visual techniques are used to convey meaning?
The use of using the particular genre type of music, Dubstep, conveys the meaning that its been made for a younger audience.
What are the denotative meanings and connotations?
The denotative meaning of the sound is that it’s very upbeat and modern and this connotes that this documentary is about the young modern life of teenagers.
What is the significance of the mise-en-scene?
The props that are used like the laptop, tablet and smart phones shows us that its young, in-style and contemporary. The clothes and make up being worn by the teens aren’t too dressed up or over the top, it’s very casual and in result doesn’t look like a fake show.

The dominant images are the girl presenting the documentary and all the different technologies being used.
What assumptions about the audience are made?
The assumption about the audience would be that they’re young and also maybe doing the same kind of things and is actually interested in the topic question “what’s the harm?” so young questionable teens.

The audience may react different that eachother as it is a sensitive topic. On the one hand it could be negative as its giving teens a bad image and portraying them to be irrisponable and innapropiate, but it also educates and informs people today of the dangers out there and how much e-media influences our lives
It appeals to the audience by using the topic sex, technology, a similar age group, different ethnic backgrounds and the use of identification all appeals to the audience

The target audience would be 16-25 year olds of both genders.

Yes. Stereotypes of teens, they’re portrayed of being irresponsible with privileges and also disrespectful to themselves and others
